About Us

Started in 2004, the Walk for Autism-Virginia, began as a way to help families with loved ones on the autism spectrum. We are a group of mothers and fathers, and other loved ones who are deeply committed to helping our children achieve the most meaningful lives possible. We come from many different backgrounds. But we have one common goal, which is to help improve the lives of our children.

We are so lucky to have committee members who have been a part of this team since the Walk’s inception. Those members share their experience and knowledge freely. We are also happy to have new faces joining our committee each year. We have a variety of talents that we use to pull the team together.

We are a program of the Autism Society of Northern Virginia  (ASNV).

Become a Volunteer

We are an all-volunteer organization looking for interested individuals to serve on our committee. If interested in becoming a committee member, send an email to . This is a great way to get to know other parents in the community who also have children on the spectrum. While the committee is not an actual support group, being part of it allows one to have a great resource for information sharing and for support too.
